    Default 3.2 Air Intake mod

After reading about the Gsi air intake which is shorter than the one fitted on my 3.2, I went to the dealer with the part No. in hand and a smile in my face...after waiting for this not smiley fellow to be "available" he punched down the part No. and oh what a surprise...my smile fainted...they donīt even have the short intake registered in the computer, so I walk out not as a happy bunny as expected.
So I was thinking of modding the current intake by doing some holes on the sound suppressing loops to let air in through there along with the exiting intake mouth...so I will have an intake on the right and one in the left.
Before drilling a bunch of holes on the beast I would like to hear the Pros and Cons you can think about this.
    Thanks chaps

Is it not possible to hack saw the loops off and do a cut and paste with the inlet?
bit of flexy hose and a pipe clamp?

According to a thread I read the other day, the part only costs about £6, How much would postage to Mexico be?
If you could wait a few weeks, I'm sure the next forum member who is passing their Dealer could pick one up for you and stick it in the post!

I guess you could mate, but I don`t think it would be an easy job...and I think the original one would not hurt at all to leave it where it is...I think that the more intake area the better...I think

It crossed my mind mate...but....Mushy2007 just quoted the shipping to Mexico for an Irmy grille for 50 GBP`s ....so drilling holes at this point sounds more like an option to me

Many thanks mate I really appreciate it....but I think its a quite a large sum just to add a shorter intake....lets put it this way.....1GBP = 22.5 mexican pesos more or less....
Life would be different if I had a decent income
    Thanks again Cat.

......mmmm........wonder if anyone is going to the USA for a holiday soon. It must be cheaper to post from there. They could buy one here, take it with them and stick it in the post when they get there. Sorted!!!

Sounds good....actually I have family living in the US and most of them travel to Mexico often
But again isn`t this to much trouble for a short intake? would the DIY work even better...doubleing the area of intake by doing the holes? Bigger the area of intake the better? or not?
