This is a problem as the wall flexes in braking and cornering the rubber becomes stretched thus leading to posible blow out.
Was dumb enough to ignore on a rover turbo until it blew at 85mph on the m40.

Yes it would be a danger. The tyre wall would be weakened. You need to be more careful when parking!

You've gotta replace those tyres! They could be weakened and you don't want one blowing at speed - plus the insurance implications if any assessor ever spotted that there was a problem with a tyre.

Don't mess with tyres, any chunks or anything that doesn't look right get them checked professionally and replaced if required - its not just your life thats at stake, an out of control car due to a blowout can effect others!

Rubber can save you in bed, as it can on the road, I had to write off one the other week due to a gash, it's annoying and expensive, but what price do you put on yours and others lives is the question you have to ask yourself, go to Kwik Fit, they are dealing on Pirelli,Mich and bridges at the moment, hth.

If you've only taken a chunk out of the "rim protector" lip you might be okay, if it hasn't gone too deep.

Any higher up, and forget it: time to go tyre shopping.
