    Default Too Strong ?

    Email to National Car hire:-

Reservation number xxxxxxxxx made approx 11am, 19/11/07.

I rang 08701916970 (reservation number) to say that I had a Free upgrade coupon due to previous poor service from National, and would like to redeem it this hire.
I was informed to ring the local branch at Leicester as they would be dealing with this hire, - which was due to start at 4pm.

I did so, and was informed that it was proving difficult due to availability of a suitable vehicle, but they would ring me back later to confirm one way or the other.

    Anyway, NO CALL BACK !

I rang back at 15:15 and was told that it may still be possible, but they would call back to confirm soon.

Got a call at 16:10 to explain that it wasn't possible as the branch had no cars of a higher grade than booked normally!

The person could not and did not explain to any degree of satisfaction whether they had tried any other branches in the 5 HOURS they had between booking and calling me at 16:10 for any suitable car with free upgrade coupon to use. (eg Coventry, Birmingham branches, etc etc - there must be 10 branches within 1/2 hour drive from Hinckley)

And also the car is LATE, LATE, LATE - again with no explanation.

How can you run company with so little regard for the customer?

The car hire is at least an hour late (which inconveniences ME) and no effort was made to redeem the coupon I had for previous poor service. . . .

My only conclusion is that National cannot deliver the service expected.
I now have totally lost all confidence in National and do not intend to use their (poor) service again.

Enterprise aren't much better as I found out when I had an insurance loan car from them.

    You should try Avis!!

When i wrote my Vectra off Xmas eve last year, i got a Fiesta Hire Car, but had to give a £50 fuel deposit, which i gave in Cash..

When they collected the car, i asked where my £50 was they told me i had to speak to Head Office about it.. I phoned Head Office who told me it usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks to process the deposit refund's!!

I finally recieved my deposit back on 23 March this year!!

All rental companies are sh!te, they take full advantage of you needing them!

Out of principle now i will not use them after my Avis experience.

It's a company hire, and we have to use National. I use them all the time and they do try to rip us off all the time.

Take out the "Super Duper Collision Insurance" then wrap it round their gates on the way back when the rental is over.

Ste, I'm a bit disappointed. Way too polite.

We have to use Enterprise .

Everytime, I request a Vectra, Mondeo or Mazda and then tell them I don't want a people carrier.

So naturally they deliver a Picasso. Then they take it back and bring A Vectra. This charade has been going on for two years.
