Default 1.8 Sri MPG, sound about right?

    The computer stated 31mpg

done a little calculation on an online mpg converter and its showing around 25mpg.
im tending to get about 160miles to half a tank. i calculated 33ltrs at 99p getting 170 miles which gave me around 25mpg, is this right? id like to pretend i was happy but its worse than my 2.0 astra sri was LOL

Sound about right to me, my 1.8 tends to get between 26-32mpg in the town. Long distance open road is about 37mpg. Not to good at all. Me old renault used to get around 39mpg in the town and 45+ on the open road!

I get on average 34-36mpg from my 1.8 estate (non-sri), but my runs do vary from short journeys to long ones so its not a fair comparison.

If your journeys are short then the consumption will be high as its probably permanently on "choke" for the duration of them.

I normally get about 38mpg from my 1.8 LS

But it is very mainly motorway.
I went down to Newquay earlier this year and got about 41 on that trip.
