Default diesel exhaust fumes in cabin

Noticed last few months that there is the occasional smell of exhaust fumes filtering into cabin as if you are stuck behind an old banger smoking like a chimney!! It seems to be happening more and more often. It then disappears as quick as it appears. just had recent service done at local independants. Any thoughts anyone??
