    Have you tried this yet on your PS3, i have just dowloaded the program and am really happy that I am helping mankind

    The Folding@home™ Distributed Computing Project at Stanford University

    Since October 2000, over one million CPUs throughout the world have participated in this distributed computing project. The goal of this project is to research protein folding and misfolding to gain an understanding of how these are related to disease.
    Targeted diseases include (but are not limited to) Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and many forms of cancer.
    Your participation will help accelerate the understanding of these and other diseases.

    I have just downloaded it to my laptop as well. So it runs in the background.

    i done that a while back.. mines done around 30 units so far.. i dont use it for anything else so glad to help out where i can..
    i liked the map of the world with participants marked on it.. nice touch.. not many people in the outback using it though... wonder why..

    how did you get it on the laptop?? i used to run seti programs searchung audio from space.. i think i heard chris moyles once......

    Its really interesting stuff, the map is mad, tiny islands around the world and they have a PS3!

    its a shame that map is only on that page.. quite cool seeing where people can get online.. just tried the download link and it says they are performing an update check back in 15 mins..

    Isn't it also including PCs in those stats?

    Nope, just sony ps3's as you can team(other ps3 owners) your ps3's to make a better, faster processor.

    The locations of PS3™ systems that are running Folding@home™ are displayed on the world map that is visible in the background.
