I love sketchup. It's one of the most user friendly 3D software packages I've come across. Chiefly aimed at architects but easily applied to many other disciplines.

i use maya for my work, only used sketch up briefly to see what its like. looks quite a simple and very affective piece of software. i like the idea of bein able to model ure house and upload it to google earth.

Hey Carl what do use Maya for? where do you work? I have "used" it a cople of times to give it a try and hell! that software its awesome. The problem was that is so bast, I mean it`s not oriented towards architecture. I`m currently using Vue Infinite which is really easy, complete, and delivers decents results on rendering which is what I`m after...said that, is not compared by any means to Maya nor Max.

Pretty cool job of yours mate!
I always wanted to learn how to model "complicated" things, I mean, other than houses and buildings where is where I`m stuck right now, mainly because I use a very simple modeling software which is specially made for architecture Archicad, and of course AUTOCAD which I mainly use for 2d.
Don`t know if you came across this thread...it`s a model and render for a house that I`ve been working on...

nice render, looks like a nice house too.
i tend to get half way through a model/project of my own and think of something else to model and then start that. need to finish quite a few models off, lol.
