Thumbs up The Nutron Re-Map has landed!!!

Well, I'd had enough of all these people saying that their remap gets 200bhp, 210bhp or 2,000,000bhp. So I went down to Red Dot today and had a go for myself! That's right, I sat at the computer, started with the standard Vx map and remapped it myself. The results were not as good as the Red Dot one I already had but it was my first attempt and we have been working on the one I have for months now.

So here's the low down :

    888/Regal (EDS) Remap - approx 185bhp & 270lbft
    Red Dot remap - aprox 195bhp & 270lbft
    Nutron's super dooper remap - 187bhp and 260lbft!

Not too shabby at all to my mind and with some time to learn that might have made 190. Though I did have the Red Dot map put back afterwards, I felt quite pleased with myself.

    Parameters I changed were...

    injection pressure and volume
    injection limiter
    torque limiter

I didn't bother changing the boost pressure as it only makes a few bhp difference so I didn't see the point.

So I would just like to blow a large raspberry to EDS
I won't be taking up remapping any time soon though as the hardware and software used to do the job today cost around £8000!!!! So I'll stick to letting Red Dot do the remapping but I feel I have a little more understanding of what is happening now.

Nope. Took me best part of an hour and a half to write that map though so £550 for a universal remap seems even more ridiculous to me now.

It's a bit more involved that just sitting in front of a computer tapping in numbers. There's a huge amount of development and testing goes into a remap, and you only altered three parameters - a full remap can alter 100+. Tapping a few numbers into the map and getting a peak figure of 187bhp is not a remap! - a remap is altering all the variables to work in harmony and reliably.

Actually I changed about 8 different look up tables most based on rpm and load but some only had rpm and max load.
