Thread: 0.351 Second Target....

    Default 0.351 Second Target....

So..... these new 888 Wheels will be.....

    - 18" instead of my VXR 19" (so they will be smaller, and weigh less)
    - They are made of super lightweight alloy (so again.. they will weigh a lot less)
    - They will have 225 width tyres instead of 235 tyres (so less drag resistance)
    - They will have a slightly less overall diameter (so will complete a full turn in less distance/time)

So..... do you think it will make the VXRD quicker over 1/4 mile, than when its got the 19" VXR wheels on ????

..... and if so...... by how much..... (0.351 second quicker over qtr mile maybe ?????) .... or faster

EDIT: When I get them back, I'm gonna weigh them in lbs and kgs... then weigh the 19" VXR alloys to compare the difference...

    Obsessed Much!!!

Seriously though, you make a good case for why it will be faster though...

How much do 225/40/18's weigh in comparison to a 235/35/19??

You gotta take the seats and spare wheel out as well, oh and have just enough diesel for the 1/4 mile dash. Will need someone to tow you back though!!!!

and if you "let one rip" just as you start off... that's gotta be worth another 0.01 seconds, surely.

    In a word - no!

The weight is going to make practically zip difference over a 1/4 mile - such a short distance.

Err - what?!! Given that there's a bumper and bodywork in the way of the tyres, a narrower tyre is going have sod all effect on the aerodynamics! If you meant resistance from the ground, then again it's just not going to make a difference.

They will also travel less distance for that same revolution of the driveshaft - so that knocks that theory on the head!

You really need to get out more Steve!!

As said, if you really want to lower your time you could start by "doing a nutron" and take the seats out, spare etc......
