    Default 1.9 CDTI 150 Fuel pump failure...help!

On my way to work and the car cuts out....in short my local garage have said the fuel pump in the tank has gone. Typically my warranty ran out on the car 5 days ago!! I am waiting for a price back from my garage for the part, but does anyone rate my chances with going to Vauxhall and seeing if they would contribute as I suspect it wont be cheap. The car is just 3 years old with 38k on the clock..

with only 38k and 5 days out of warranty i'd 100% expect them to contribute at least 60% if not 100%!

Get to your local VX garage and have a word with the service manager. I have had them pay when out of warranty.

    Best of luck!

Thanks for that. Would they only contribute if they carried out the work? The problem I have is getting the car the 10 miles to the dealer as it is not running.

update.....my local garage have just returned the car and tell me the pump in the fuel tank was shorting out. The fuel was sloshing about and caused the two wires to touch, which as it happened were not insulated. Going to see how it goes but fingers crossed. On a side note when i phoned the main dealer to get a price of a pump I was told there was only one, which cost £915 plus vat??? obviously there are two but they didny know this. Thanks for the replies, cracking site
