Looks like they are illegal, if this has been posted before....apologies.

I think the only thing that makes them illegal in the Vectra-c is:

    2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam.
The actual beams are fine. better than normal apparantly. I've recently had mine checked out at the garage on the beam analyser machine thing, and they were better than standard.
The only main thing different is standard lights usually don't come withe the self leveling feature and headlight washers.
The washers can be put on aftermarket. Not sure about the levelers.

My only question is, if you splashed out and got genuine Xenon Headlights, and got them wired up for the car. You'd still need a new bumper with headlight washers in, so no point buying genuine.

    Get HIDs.
Rules are generally made for the masses. But don't usually apply to everything. HIDs work great in the Vectra, and not had ANY problems, or been pulled by police or been warned by a garage. Drove past loads of police cars as I live a few streets away for the local Police Station who drive Astras and Vectras so they should know their stuff.

The point here is if they wanted to "do" you for them they could as they are still illegal. Still, all up to you really. Its the reason I'm not fitting them. I can't be bothered with any hassle about them. They are much better than standard though

Would anyone notice enough to pull you? That's probably more to the point.

Remember, They're only illegal if you get caught.

As mentioned last time, the only problem could come to insurance claims. As they aren't strictly legal, they can use it as an excuse not to pay out...
