    Default Key Fobs

The rubber face of my key fob has been damaged so that you can't see the symbols (boot open, lock etc) anymore.

This is a bit poor for a two year old car.

Can you get these replaced easily?
Can I get another of ebay and do a transplant??

Bet I can't claim it on my VX warranty could I as it wear and tear???

Yes it is a bit poor - but mine is 4 years old and has no real signs of wear. If you go to a VX garage for a new one then its about £60 for a new one -supply, cut and coded. Although some charge a lot more. They only do the new flip key now as I assume you have the fixed type?
Cheapest soloution is to get one off e-bay, have it recoded and just swap the metal blade key bit over.
I would have thought they would say its wear and tare -down to how you treat it

    Thanks for the reply.

£60 isn't as bad as I thought, and the fixed type should be more robust.

But ebay should be cheaper. Where can you get the keys recoded?

Pretty much only at VX. As for a new key the flip design is much better imo. It should be £37.50 for the key plus coading and fitting. Some garages charge over £100 for this. Do a search for flip key.
