    Default Downsizing

Just out of curiosity, would any of you go from a 2 litre to a 1.2?

My neighbour had a 2 litre Mondeo and now has a 1.2 Corsa.

Having had Corsa then getting the Vectra i can honestly say i would never ever go for a small car again!!

NO! small cars are a breeding ground for bad drivers, I think they see it as a mini extension of themselves, where a large car requires you to be careful and not go for gaps all the time, add in the things always seem to head a slow moving line of traffic and it all adds up to an un-confident driver being too confident in side roads where kids play.

Give me a big car anyday of the week.

I don't like small cars due to the inherent issues with them.

I would have a big car anyday as well (I would of loved to of got another Signum). but for me I wouldn't want a car with less than 160-170 BHP now. I've just got a Meriva which is big enough and the long term intention is to have this and a 2 door coupe (possibly VX220)

I would go down to a 1.2 corsa, but only if hard times came along and I had to sell the VXRD ....

Other than that.... no ferking way !!.. I've driven them as loan cars and they have absolutely no power.

I went up to the supermarket and in 3rd gear, I could stamp on and off the accelerator pedal and..... nothing happens.... no lurching or nothing.... just nothing.

Then if you hold the pedal on the floor, you can hear the engine revs build up... but jeeze.... get me outta here...

When I got the VXRD back I was lovin it !! vrrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmm Peooooooooossssshhh vrrrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmm Peoooooooooossssshhh

    Yeah baby....

Used to have a mk3 astra and the only reason I would get a smaller car is for the nimble handling so it would have to have a decent engine in it for a start.

I would readily get rid of my Vectra Estate for a smaller car, but not a small engine. I could go as low as a 1.4 ( about the same speed as a 120 1.9CDTI anyways)
Quite like the idea of another Mini/MINI. Unfortunately I have to wait until the bairn grows up a touch and then I can go back to something a bit more sporting.....

If I don't get a signum as my next car then it'll be the CDTI 150 Astra,, same power as you guys but in a lighter, more nimbler car, and lets be honest it would kick my 2.2 petrol all over he ball park.

and I love driving the micra especially into supermarket car parks but I wouldn't like to have an accident in it.
