    Angry Ignorant dealers!!

I went into the dealers the other day complaining of wind noise at motorway speeds and bad condensation on the rear drivers side window. First he said he couldn't hear it on his drive round the block. I told him again it was at motorway speeds and he went away and adjusted the door jams and found the rear window regulator to be faultyand the window is dropping dwn slightly whilst driving. i went to manchester yesterday to look at some puppies and the rear window didn't move at all but the noise was still there. they called me this morning to say the part was in and i thought i'd mention my handbrake coming up so far that even with the arm rest fully back it's still pushing it up slightlyand was told that there is no adjustment and the calipers have to be stripped, cleaned and wound back and it might make a differance but might not. I have to pay for this as it's not under the warranty. So i still have wind noise and a faulty handbrake and when i say I'm sure there is a known problem on the front door near the wing mirror with a field remedy i just get told we've never heard of that one sorry!!! I can't seem to get through to them

i dont know about vecs but im sure that manufactures arent aloud to use the rear caliper as a handbrake aswell?? i may be wrong but my bm has got shoes inside the rear drums my handbrake comes all the way up i can almost pass it to passnegers in the back lol if its the saem set up as that your need to change the shoes but if its on calipers then i cant see how winding them backs going to help lol

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

The handbrake operates the service brake pads on Vec C.

They used to have internal shoes like described above on older VX cars, but not any more.

Sounds like adjusting the rear calipers PROPERLY would help here

Not sure on how they work exactly but the vec uses the same pads for the handbrake as well as the normal brakes. think there must be some sort of cable operated pistonto operate the handbrake. not 100% though

i know on the maza mx5's they use a small allen key screw in the back of the caliper to adjust the handbrake (which is on the reear caliper too) maybe it has a similar set up to that
