Won't be getting the car till Friday

As the car was transferred from another dealer they have to put it through their stock, put it through the workshop, clean it and SupaGuard it all before i can get it, which takes 3 days.

All my insurance details are changed to take effect as soon as i pick it up - but my plate won't be on until the transfer is done so i'll be driving round with the original plate.

The car is an 04 and mine is a 54 but who cares? It's an SRi so obviously it's better than a 'life'

It's also spotless inside and out and although i didn't get to take it a test run, the salesman says it's a fantastic car as he took it a run when it got delivered.

good things are worth the wait.
I sold my Astra sri and coulnd tpick my vectra up for a week after that, makes it far more satisfying when you do collect it

I thought the very same thing this morning. I must admit i'm looking forward to having some extra money in my pocket and not spending as much time in the petrol station!!

Went to speak to the salesman this afternoon and he was off. Spoke to another one who told me the plate transfer documents wouldn't be in until Monday and he didn't know if i can still get the car tomorrow

Now i asked the salesman on Monday if i could get the car with the original registration on it, and he said yes as long as i get it insured with the original reg. Can they refuse to give me the car until the plate transfer documents arrive?

I'd have thought that if the car is ready, insured correctly and taxed then it would be fine to collect it and change the registration once the documents arrive......
