    Default Useless Vx!

I seem to have have issue when I apply the indicators (full push) and when you go to turn INTO a corner they cancel. Clearly they should cancel once you have turned into corner and strighten the wheel. This only happens occiasionally - but usually once a day at some point.
So, took my car down to Vx last week to get the indicator looked at (again) and insisted someone drove while I was with them. Well they tested it but they didnt play up at all!! Sods law!! Well the guy suggested that the Sales Manager took the car home to give it a longer run and see if the fault occurs. Went back the next day and they said:
"yes it did the fault and yes the manager car himself does the same"!

They said they rang Vx technical dept and they said it was " a characterisic of the car".

Also, it went in to get the fog lamp sorted as it keeps getting condensation in it. They said they did the "20 min condensation test" and it was ok. No fault found.
This test consists of putting the fog lights on, and if it clears within 20 mins then its ok.

Does this sound like a load of b*ll*cks?!

it amazes me how vauxhall use the 'its a characteristic' line. Surely if its not working correctly it needs to be fixed, regardless of if every other vectra does it. It may a common thing, but its still a fault. I'd take it further.

For the record... mine doesnt do it, so its not an 'across the range' characteristic!!

The fog light test seems to be the standard 'test' they use. My foglight (nearside) misted up in the past. Failed this test so it did get replaced.

As for the indicator, I have exactly the same problem as you. I mentioned it to my dealer and they said it's just the way it is. I had a Vec C courtesy car once and it didn't seem to be as bad. It's a real pain in the a**e when turning right as I'll indicate to go right into, say, a sife street. Just as I move to the centre of the road, it'll then turn off. Similar problem on some roundabouts.

After Andy's comment, I think I'll be back down to the dealers at some point as it doesn't seem to be 'across the range'.

Thats amazing Duncan - I've actually found someone who has the same indicator problem!!! Everyone I speak to says "are you sure it does that" or "it must be your car".
I think is problem a design fault and hence cant be rectified - unless they change the design. But with enough people complaining - maybe they will look at it and change the design on future models (or even ditch these dam electronic indicators altogether!!!!!!!!!!!)
Also, had a (pocksey 1.2!) Corsa as a couretsey car - and that had normal (non electronic) idicators........soooo much better no cancelling.

I believe Vx have said that they have sorted the indicator issues out on the facelift model, but that doesn't help you I know. So they know that there is a problem.

Take it all the way mate.

I am suprised how many people have the problem with their indicators. I've asked the same question on other forums and no-one had replied saying they had the fault.
