    Default Little Insurance advice pls

Got done for speeding tonight by an unmarked Vec Design (very nice it was too!) Anyway, do I inform my insurance now or when it comes to renewal, as last time I got some points it didn't affect my insurance till renewal.

I'd say when it comes to renewal - that's my understanding of it anyway. The three I got recently (unmarked Fabia! lol) I'm going to obviously declare next renewal. I don't think there is any requirement to immediately ring them up and tell them.

Its always best to let them know straight away, just incase anything does happen, we all know they will try to get out of settling a claim on any little technicality they can.

On a lighter note, you couldn't have got done by a better car.
Was it in leeds you got done?

I was done in 2004 and informed my insurance company straight away. For my sins they immediately loaded my policy by £47 quid !!!

    Nice of them eh?!

I was told by them (esure) that I had done the right thing though

As insurance is my forte i can tell you that you "Must" inform the insurance company of any changes to your policy so that they cant say six months later if you make a claim that you have undisclosed points on your license so they are throwing your claim out, its not worth it and tbh i don't think they will even charge you at the time you notify them.

This can and does happen where i work ..... like i said its not worth it mate, i would notify them as soon as they are on your license.

I work for an insurance company, and I know that you have to inform them of any driving convictions.

It's a term and condition of your policy.

If you have a crash between now and your renewal, they can void your policy if they find out about your points.
    It's best to inform them.
It shouldn't affect your policy until renewal time but it covers you for any unseen accidents you may have...
Insurance companies will use any loophole to get out of paying for things, so if you've not told them about any points and you have a crash, you'll ned up paying for things not them.

Cheers guys. Pricey, yes it was in leeds, going up to Pudsey roundabout. Was a bit lucky, I wont tell you my top speed according to police equipment as im not very proud of it, but got done for and average speed of 74mph in a short 60 zone. He had run out of tickets so I thought I was going to get lucky, but sods law we were right next to Pudsey police station, so he asked me to follow him in.

Looks like I'd better make a quick call to my insurers as well then!

With your track record it might be a good idea.
