Default What does £190K buy you in your area?

Early next year mme and the missus are planning on putting our 'maisonette' on the market and buying a house with garden, garage etc, something a bit more family orientated. Our budget is £190K which used to be a lot of cash but these days it doesnt seem to get you much. We can either get a 4 bed detached in a regeneration area like one of the old mining towns or a newish 3 bed detached or good sized 1930's semi in a slightly better area or closer to Newcastles amenties and transport links.

This is our favourite so far... a 3 bed detached with ensuite etc, reasonably close to Newcastle and links etc but the rooms are tiny

Just out of interest, show us some pics of what you can get for £190K where you live.

    pmsl @ G.G!!!!!!!

We had our house valued a month or two ago - they suggested £190k. Very pretty, but not very big - 3 bed mid-mews (2 double rooms, one pretty small single), tiny little garden and driveway round the back (completely confusing!) I guess it's all down to location!! Cheshire is getting SO ridiculously expensive, people are just priced out of the nice areas.
