Exclamation Shell V-Power Diesel - THE FACTS

Below is a copy of the spec sheet for Shell V-Power diesel. Notice the top line - BS cetane rating for diesel is 51 - V-Power diesel guarantee 56 minimum.

I have no idea what all the other stuff means, but that's the reason cars run smoother with premium fuels. Higher cetane rating means more efficient combustion, a more complete burn and hence less soot out the back

I'm certain mine gave less soot when running on V-power, smokes like a ferkin chimney on the standard stuff from tesco

I'm kinda worried about that "BS" at the beginning...

V power & BP ultimate have always reportedly had higher cetane rating - that was never in dispute I don't think. How much difference that actually makes to a car in standard tune is debatable, imo next to nothing. Standard UK fuels are high quality anyway.
I've filled up many times with V-Power & BP Ultimate in the past, but for the last few months I've used nothing but Esso's standard diesel. The car runs perfect on it.

The reason I posted this was because nowhere on the Shell website does it actually say that V_Power has a higher cetane rating, all they advertise is the cleaning additives.

I ran my car on V power and its now in the dealer PMSL

don't really see the point in vpower certainly at the price. I'll continue to use shell extra which has a cetane rating of 54-55.
