FAO Anyone with an xbox elite

Does the xbox elite have an extra usb port on the back.

reason im asking is, when my elite arrives i will have to connect my wireless adapter in the usb (unless the elite has built in wireless), and i will need to wire in my Xbox hd dvd player.

any info would be great.

Hi Russ, I have my wireless adaptor on the back of my elite as normal but im not sure if it has an extra usb port, it doesn't have wireless built in, I think its just got the one usb.. Have you ordered the data transfer cable to transfer from your 20gb HD to the new 120gb HD..??

i only had the cheap xbox before so no old hard drive - lol

The wireless adaptor will plug into the usb hub in the hd-dvd player and there is space for it to clip onto the back.

ah ok, and it will just run as soon as connected???

does the dvd player need to be turned on or does it turn on when the xbox is on/?

Ive heard the hd dvd player is very noisy, hence Ive not bought one to go on my elite ( and its the wrong colour )

the gaming picture will, if you have a decent HD tv, outstand you though

use the standard cables first to set the elite into 60hz mode, then the hd , that way you'll have hd 60hz, and not 50 hz. It cant be changed when using HD cable..

HDDVD drive is very quiet, the xbox itself is a lot noisier so not sure where they're coming from. The HD drive does indeed switch itself on when the xbox powers up.
