    Default folding mirrors

I have finally bought myself a elite 3.2, but i downloaded the manual and saw it should have folding mirrors, which would help me tons cos it just about squeezes into the garage. The manual seems very vague concerning getting the mirrors to fold, and if anyone can help detail the steps to do it, it would really help. Do you have to have the engine running? It says in the instructions make sure none of the mirror buttons are pressed in then push the four way switch to the right, but it has no effect on mine.Do these things electrically fold, or is it on certain models only?
Pics of my new beauty will follow soon before anyone asks "wheres the pics".

Electrically folding mirrors have an extra switch so they I reckon they must be manual ones - just grab hold of the outside edge of the mirror case & pull them backwards & they'll rotate in towards the door glass

They weren't standard on any models, the manual only refers to them as they are an option that could be on the car. They would only be on your car if they were optioned by the first buyer.

There's no extra switch fitted if they are installed - they work off the mirror adjustment buttons. If they are fitted then make sure neither of the mirror adjustment buttons are pushed in. Then pushing the rocker switch to the left will close them, to the right will open them. If they were factory fitted ones then the rocker switch will also have a little folding mirror graphic on it.

You should also be able to fold them after you lock the car by holding in the lock button on the remote for about ten seconds or so.

They can be retro fitted but it's not cheap (worth it though IMHO )

I have a 57 plate with the folding mirror icon on the 4 way switch - but does not seem to work. Will have a word with dealer.

Make sure you have neither of the mirror adjustment buttons pushed in - they must both be out for it to work off the rocker switch.

Yes - I know about the neutral position so tried that - I assume these things work whether or not the key is in the ignition - dealer didn't ring me back - there's a surprise!!

It would appear that they are not fitted and the little wing mirror icon on the rocker and on the mirror buttons do not mean anything other than they are electric.

    Will ask around.
