Signum ABS problems

Hi chaps, had a hunt around for a thread may have been started already but cant find one so here's my story so far:-
Bought a 53 plate Signum V6 3ltr diesel last weekend with the abs pump constantly running, even with the key out of the ignition. Now I'm know mechanic but even I thought that the pumps ok, something has to keeping it running like the ECU or relay.
Had a diagnostic test done on Thurs (not at VX), its brought up 2 codes CO110 and C0121. It appears its the ECU but VX have advised and recommend that if I replace the ECU I must also replace the pump - an independant garage has quoted me 1600 all in of which the parts are 1200!!! They also still have to get VX to do a further diagnostic check just to make sure - should've taken to main dealer first of all!!

Made some calls today to track down a second hand ECU but to avail.

Questions-
Any one know of any good breakers or perhaps I can have them reconditioned?
Does the pump have to be replaced?
