05 Vectra 60k Service

Hi all

I thought some might be interested in the following.....

Yesterday my car went in for it's 60k service, it a 05 Vectra Sri 1.9 150.

The service was £175
Bake Fluid Change £25
Brake Pad Sensor £25.97
Rear Pads and Discs £145.70

On top of the they have ordered front and rear suspension guide arms as there was too much play and a new part for the steering rack. Apparently these parts fitted would have cost me over £700 if I did not have an unlimited mileage netq. On speaking with the service manager he said these parts failing were not uncommon....

Anyway, I was then talking to my Father in Law who has a Alfa with the same 1.9 engine, his 30k service at main dealer is £575....wtf is that all about?

Yeah, that and the vauxhall parts are ****e failing at 60k, I still have a L reg Astra and all it has ever had done is brakes, exhaust and battery.

see what you mean ! the wifes old 2.2 dti has only ever had tyres and a set of front pads in 3 years ! the quality of modern VX's is rather poor really !!

Yeah,they still have the Signum I am interested in it's a pre reg with 6 miles on it and they want 13k but I wonder if I should get the 170 bhp Avensis....tough choices based on the price difference.
