There really isn't anything sinister going on. Duncan has a genuine reason for temporarily removing the thread in question. Nothing to do with anything anyone has done Don't worry, normal service will be resumed ASAP

......and then the thread was deleted as it was only highlighting the initial thread(s) deletion.

Then another thread was started asking what happened to that thread! lol I think goldenbullet hit the nail on the head.....

trucker, although i have posted on this thread and had a laugh at the situation, i think if this one is deleted that maybe you shouldnt start a new thread mentioning the fact its been deleted...

There were a number of posts and threads concerning a member, and specifically their car, that were being 'hidden' for them whilst something with their car was being sorted out - as simple as that and, as we said, nothing sinister!!!

Maybe next time folks will just trust us when do these things, instead of of all the 'conspiracy theories' and associated posts.

I can see how this happens. I asked for a thread (I started) to be deleted earlier this year. Nobody appears to have noticed although it had plenty of views.

If the thread had remained on the site it could have cost me around £500.

I could tell you. But then I'd have to kill you.

No really simple. I put the missus car in the for sale section at (and I mean) the rock bottom price I wanted for it. This was because it was on here.

There was no interest so I then put it in the AT using the same pictures.

This meant that anyone coming to look at the car would have been able to find the price I would let it go for. A real possibility I thought as people look at a lot of car forums. The car was one which has dedicated sites.

Therefore I asked for it to be deleted.



The person who bought it paid £500 more than the price I put on here. With hindsight (we had loads of people wanting to come and see it from the AT) the price on here was too low.

I guess that if there had been a lot of posts about the car saying it's a pile of junk or over priced etc. it would have looked a bit iffy being deleted.
