Headrest DVD Players - Help Please...

Hi,

I want to fit headrest DVD players but can't seem to get the wires down the inside of the seat, is there a special trick to this. Someone last week told me that the backs come off the seats easy enough but I don't see how, my seats are all cloth. If I remove the headrests and try to poke something down the hole, expecting it to drop through the back of the seat, it doesn't, in fact it goes in about three inches and stops.

Any hints tips or trix you know of would be appreciated... I've got a 2005 model year, Vectra C, 1.9CDTi 150...

Have you tried pushing a wire coat hanger down to break through the foam?

I've not done it but there are a few that have successfully fitted them so it must be possible

Thanks mate, I haven't tried that no, I did try a thin stick, the type you tie a growing plant to but no success. I'll try the harder coat hanger wire and see how I get on. I'm pondering this at the moment as you seem only to be able to buy leatrher look headrests with DVD players already in and my seats are cloth so not sure how they will look really... may have to go back to the roof mounted system again but you loose too much money... if you change your car as often as I do that is !

So i need to try and do the wire's in the seat trick. Keep me posted on how you get on please.
I dont think it should be to hard to pull the wire's through as they are quite thin.

Now this is excellent information SIg. Thanks very very much. I was already thinking of wiring it to that ciggy lighter 12v.
It even show's how to remove the front of that.

get a meter of the wire you would use to put up you house window nets

the white thing ,,it will do the job a treat
