Default Why do they do it..

I have had just about enough of the below par standards of driving in this country i tell you!!!

On my way home from work today on the A5 dual carriageway in Milton Keynes, its about 1550, the road is pretty quiet, so i am doing 90mph approaching a line of 3 cars on the inside doing about 70(yes i know i am breaking the speed limit), as i overtake the first 2 car's, the 3rd one, bear in mind there is nothing in front of him, pulls out into my path and stands on the brakes down to 40mph!!! How i never it them up the a*e is a mystery i tell you!!

Then, 2 miles down the road, with what happened a minute ago in my mind, i had slowed down to 75ish, just starting overtake a 7.5t when the t*sser driving it does te self same thing as the car 2 miles ago!!

Whats going on with this country, driving standards get worse and worse every single day of the week!!

I know i was speeding, but even so, the actions they took could have resulted i a pretty serious accident!

You'd be suprised how many ppl think the mirrors are there only for effect and don't use them, might wanna consider slowing up a bit there Ben, at that speed you would almost certainly be dead if you had collided, I see your point but you have to drive like all others are idiots and expect the unexpected at all times.

Too many people take it upon themselves to police our roads.

What you will find is that guy seen you in his mirror speeding and thought I will teach this guy a lesson.

As you rightly put it these people are lethal and need to wise up!

And driving at 90mph of course comes under the heading of 'above standard' driving?!!
Also to criticise one bad decision by another driver when you were clearly breaking the law doesn't hold much ground, as I'm sure it wouldn't with the Police in the event of an accident.
Yes, you're right the habits of other drivers is getting worse but unfortunately you have now just admitted yourself to this group by going 20mph over the limit - also potentially causing a very serious accident.

I think everyone needs to remember the speed limit was set years ago when cars ran on 10" wheels, no abs, traction control, stability management etc, etc, etc!!!!!

Yeah... problem is that it doesnt matter how big your wheels are, or about the safety devices on the vehicle.... at 80 or 100 mph, if you have an uncontrolled incident... you are dead meat !!

By uncontrolled I mean.... blow outs, falling asleep, lorry swerves and hits you, kids push their bikes across the motorway, cows-horses-swans on the motorway etc etc....

If you set the speed limit at 70mph everyone does 80mph... if you set it at 90mph.... everyone would do 100 mph.... so it remains at 70mph for obvious reasons.
