Default Removal of Factory Fit Head unit

    Hi,

I have been reading through all the posts on fitting a different head unit, and it seems straight forward enough.

Just one question, If i unplug my CD30 unit and fit the new Alpine head unit, if i want to put the original CD30 back in, am i assuming correctly that all i will have to do is enter the radio code number and it will be back and working?

The CD30 doesn't need a code m8, it is Tech 2'd into the car. Just take it out and fit the new head unit. You will need the CD30 to set the clock in March next year though

When I need to alter the clock I just take the glove box out & attach the CD30 to the original wiring without disturbing the Alpine install. This wont be necessary when Alpine release the wiring interface for the display & steering wheel controls.

I also replaced my head unit, was a bit of a ****** but done it in the end. Spose its easy enough if you have the patience...unfortunately, i do not fall into "The Most Patient" person category. I reaplaced it with a DVD Head unit, pretty cool, only annoying thing is that you cant use the steering wheel controls for it! Well, i say annoying, it is when people are like, "Whoa, can you control the Radio and stuff with that" ..... "Erm, no, not now"
