    Default cdti 150 mis fire?

    My 54 plate vectra has just started mis firing when cold. I know its not actually mis firing, but it seems that way. This morning on the way to work the car lost power and I tried to rev the car but little happened for a few seconds and then we were off.

    I've read the threads about similar problems with other vectras, with various things getting replaced and re mapped, but I had a power box fitted, which I have taken off, and was wondering will it affect my warranty?

    it sounds just like our one....

    runs as rough as a bag of spuds for around 2 mins, or until you rev it over 3,000 rpm .. then it idles on 4 cylinders again..

    all the warranty guys at VX would say is it's due to the alternator not giving enough charge to run all the systems.... Funnily enough it has only occured since it went in for the DPF work and they uploaded the latest revison of the engine software to it..previous to this it was A-okay..needless to say , i don't beleive them..

    it's not the injector harness or it would run rough all the time...

    Default cdti 150 mis fire?

    From some else's thread on another issue, I think there was a batch of alternators replaced under warranty and someone told me yesterday, some alternators had caught fire.

    A colleague at work had a Mercerdes which had problems due to him only doing short journey's which did not charge the battery fully. The various ecu's on the car then flagged this up and various components stopped working.

    thats not very good for a modern car though !! poor quality !

    The car had been brilliant prior to this, tho I've had about 500 to 550 miles on a full tank, even with the power box fitted.

    It's gone into Sherwoods of Darlington this morning and I'm waiting with baited breath. It's only covered under warranty till 30/11/07!!!!

    Had a similsr issue with mine, they replaced the 'common rail'.
    Interestingly they also snagged the fuel filler cap as being the wrong type.
    I've never replaced it and the car was owned by Vx prior to me.
    Good luck with it.

    They rang me today and said it's the air flow meter. I voiced concerns that I was approaching the end of the warranty and was told it would be taken into account!

    If the air flow meter is faulty it should be covered until the warranty expires on 30/11/07 so I'm not sure what they mean by 'it will be taken into account'

    Got it back today, they changed the air flow meter and the gasket on the EGR. Seems a little under powered now tho and flatter before the turbo comes in! Any ideas?
