Thumbs down Irmscher Uk Reply To The Door Trim Problem

    EDIT: Reply from Irmscher Bits

Hi Nigel, thanks for your reply and your professionalism in not just relaying my message straight to the forum ... as a fellow enthusiast I do understand where you are coming from ... more so that an average retailer/trader would anyway.

Irmscher-UK do read members posts on anything concerning Irmscher on the boards, and have confirmed they've done so with this also.

Basically Irmscher-UK are not at fault and are in a tricky position when it comes to reordering any minority RHD specific parts from their German parent company. What Germany as told them is they need to order a minimum quantity of 100 units for another run to be produced which is obviously a profit gaining exercise from Germany HQ. But whichever way you look at it, its been a very slow moving part in the past (probably due to price) therefore Irmscher-UK do not want a large quantity sat around in the warehouse for ages, its not just dead money its probably other factors too.

As a backup plan, I'd recommend your members approach the Irmscher German HQ during the trip over there next year, and campaign to get the minimum order scrapped to let Irmscher-UK purchase whatever quantity they need for supplying the current UK demand. I think this may be a better long term solution to this and other part availability problems that may come up again in the future, in the end it will help Irmscher-UK, me and other Irmscher suppliers give you lot more choices. You are welcome to pass this message on to the Irmscher trip organisers if you wish.

Cheers for now ... keep working on the list!
    Dave

The door mirror section. The door mirror housings are reversed for LHD compared to RHD models

The passenger door mirror is a different shape to the drivers door mirror.... its then reversed over here... but you cant simply reverse the Irmscher sticker... Two new ones have to be made for RHD cars...

    NEXT Irmscher expert question please....

Surely these are the same for RHD and LHD??

EDIT: Spotted Spoons reply.... very surprised there is a difference even for the mirror housing..

EDIT 2: Aren't these just the door pillar trims?

Should I just get my coat now??

If I remember correctly Matt (Maverick) bought a set whilst we were at Irmscher in Germany.... He then fitted it all to his car..... and the last bit was his door mirror section..... and ... it didnt fit !!

They had given him a European set and not the UK set..... so a quick word with Mr Irmscher and it was all sorted....

But thats how I know the LHD kit wont fit

    PROBLEM SOLVED

..... now thinking about it...... if you were really desperate to get this kit onto your car.....

You could order the European Kit for a Vectra Hatchback..... and then order the UK Signum kit...... and use the mirror section from the UK Signum kit and the European 'B' & 'C' pillar section and you would then have it all sorted.... with a few 'extra' Signum bits left over !!!

It would cost you two kits worth... but it should work fine !!
