Default diabetes test for my 2 year old

My nearly 2 year old daughter has to have a blood test done at the hospital tomorrow to check if she's diabetic. I'm really hoping it is going to be negative. I'm unsure if we will get the answer tomorrow.
It all started about 6 month ago when she was constantly asking for a drink of juice. We did notice it and mentioned it to the nurse but we were told that it's OK as she could be thirsty due to the heat.
I thought it was something to do with me and her associating a drink with me as i give her anything she asks for. But i got the wife to keep an eye on it. But even when she's at her Gran's or nursery she is always asking for a drink.
Me nor the wife are diabetics but the wife's dad is. Could this be in the family sort of thing.
I'm just starting to read up on it now.
But it's just a bit worrying for me at the moment. Wish i was at home to be with her at the hospital.
Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I suffer from thirst a lot Shan, but no blood test has said I'm diabetic yet, might want to look at her diet incase something you give her is drying her out like Coke or similar, and when I say I'm thirsty I don't mean for beer this time, hth.

VV she has a better diet than me. Home cooked food everyday. She's fed like a king. We never give her coke or any other fizzy drink.
Only milk twice a day morning and night and water with a touch of sugar free cordial. Or even just plain water.

    Thanks guy's

If she's Lactose intolerant Shan, this could explain things, Milk and cheese do all sorts of things to ppl, does she get gungey sinuses or bad breath at all? might be worth mentioning it to the quacks before they give her a life of insulin, I get troubles with coffee and wheat, diagnosed as IBS, but it isn't, took me a long time to nail it down myself.

Fingers crossed for you all. If it is any consolation, my son's girlfriend is type 1 insulin dependent and manages it very well with minimal impact.
