    Default The Next VXR?

Uses an updated version of the current car's 2.8-litre twin-turbo V6.
Four wheel drive and a expected 0-60 of under 6 secs

Expect the standard Insignia to arrive in autumn 2008, and the VXR in spring 2009.

Still don't like it, ugly is an understatement.. and 276bhp from a is v6 crap considering in the 80's ford could get over 500bhp from a 2.oltr 16v turbo.. not to mention the lancia delta integrale, Defo No new insignia for me if it stays looking like that..

Yeah, but you can't compare a standard car to one that's been extremely highly tuned!! It's a road car for the general public - not a race car! The 80s Fords didn't come with 500bhp as standard did they?!

I'd love to see a VXR type car in 4WD though!!

The cosworth was a production car that had an engine detuned, it was just a case of remapping, adding the RS500's injector rail and intercooler.. to get nigh on 500bhp, I wouldnt imagine that the new VXR Insignia 2.8 isn't going to be much more than 300bhp to 320bhp from a v6 and its also a bhp sapping
    4x4..

been there done that with a 420bhp 4x4 Sapphire cossie over 14 years ago.. and more recently with a Mitsi Evo.. nowhere near as fun to drive as a rwd sports car....

But I reckon it'll be a mitsi evo for me again after the veccy has served its purpose..

if i did not have kids now i would have a Sapphire cossie again a lot of fun for the money with a few RS500 bits an burtons are 5 mins from me

    Sapphire cossie 300bhp
    vs
    vectra vxr 300bhp

the cossie would run away also a lot more fun to drive RWD power slide out of the halfway house a12
