    Eek AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!

driving home from work this evening,

10 mins into trip, heard a beep, then engine dipped and wouldnt go over 3000 revs, also had the picture of the car with a spanner in it.

i quickly turned the engine off and started again, fault cleared.

about 5 mins later it did it again.

restarted car, hasnt been back since.

both occurances happened while going uphill.

could this be the fuel filter or something more sinister?

    please reply quickly!

    cheers

    Russ

Could be boost sensor, or split a split pipe. Check the pipes yourself first.

Had the same just recently. Do a search on my user name and you will see the saga I went through in order to get the problem solved.

At first I thought it was something to do with the CRD2 I had fitted, but I dont think it was.

Under warranty, Vaux replaced a pressure sensor for the turbo and for a week or so everything was ok. Then the spanner light and the exhaust emissions light came back on and car went back into limp mode every few days.

Eventually they tracked it down to a faulty engine management ECU, which again, was replaced under warranty.

Not had a bit of bother with it since ( touch wood!! ).

Get it into a dealer to get a diagnostic check done on it m8.

As above, I'd check your hoses for splits and if nothing obvious then it'll have to be down to dealers to read fault codes with Tech 2.

As above - most likely a split hose, boost sensor or mass airflow sensor.

That was what mine would do. Play up, be good as gold, play up - good as gold.

Reckon more towards the boost sensor at the moment, try giving it a good clean up, see how it does.

Just unplug it, douse it in WD40 or similar and use a stiff brush on the contacts, let it dry in the air and plug it back in.
