Does the Mods not effect your Insurance Claim in the event of an accident or they spot the mods after etc etc.

Seems an easy mod to make to gain a power increase (even a small one) that I wonder and ask the question why does Vauxhall not do the mod in the first place??

it would be a VERY nosy insurance engineer who spotted it, and as it's all OEM or high quality aftermarket parts TBH, i don't think there's any insurance problem at all..

why did they design a longer air intake?..pass...but it's not only the 1.8's that have that longer intake.. the wifes 3.2 does as well..whereas my 3.2 doesn't....one of the many mystery's that is vauxhall moters..

would this affect the manufacturers warranty if you do these mods yourself? ( doesnt any work have to be done by a VAT registered garage ?).
Does anyone have the link for the how to?

warranty.. not really.. the shorter intake pipe is a genuine VX part..the air filter is a longlife high quality replacement part and the airbox mod isn't overtly obvious to the point where they (VX) would complain..

yes, warranty servicing has to be carried out by a VAT registered garage..but TBH, what we're talking about herewon't even make the VX guys flinch..

linky in a mo for the airbox how-2..

thats the link, just don't remove the top 'trumpet' like he's done..it's there to smooth the airflow over the MAF sensor..so leave it in place..

when i did the air box
can someone tell me why the box was restricted as it must put a strain on the engine trying to suck only half the air in what it needs.

it's to meet EC driveby noise regulations when the car went for type approval..for exactly the same reasons all the diesels have acoustic undertrays to retain the diesel rattle within the enginebay..you won't see one fitted on the petrols as they run quieter..
