What happens if you want to transfer a plate to another car?

You need the paper work of the number. And the paperwork of the car it's going on to. Down to the DVLA and they will transfer the new plate onto the new car. Takes about 10/14 days. you just use the normal pate to run around until the new plate paperwork arrives. Then you tell the insurance you have changed the plate number. 80 quid i think.

You goto take all your reg documents and the log book of the new car to your local DVLA office. Its all a pain in the a**. If you dont have your new car by the time your selling your old car then you need to pay £80 to put the private plate on retention. Or do what i did and sell the car and tell the new owner that ill be collecting the private plates next week.

When i told my insurance i had a new plate it didn't cost anything to change it!

And if i choose to buy this diesel then the car will probably be going to the dealers as a P/X.
