    Default 3.0 V6 CDTi Servicing

    Guys

The Tractor is due a service this month at my local garage - not a VX one. It will have 33K on the clock. I'm going to leave the timing belt change to 40K as per VX. I was going to get them to do an oil, air and fuel filter change. Is there anything else that I should get done - pollen filter, spark plugs, etc??

    Any comments appreciated.

    Thanks

    James

It won't need new plugs yet, but I'd have them done anyway if the cost isn't too high, might wanna chuck in a fuel treatment as well to keep things clean, if you ask for an emissions service they will flush the oil and treat the tank, cost around £30 iirc

    Hangon, spark plugs CDTi????

The glow plugs shouldn't ever need replacing, unless something goes wrong with them.
All they need to change, is oil & filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen; at 30k they will probably change the brake fluid too (they did on mine).
Might have missed out something there, someone else might think of it.

Glow plugs should be removed and inspected at about 80K miles, or 4 years
Typically one will be burnt (white) and I usually have them all replaced

For the Vectra C I am going to have mine done at 90K miles or fourth service

My car had two services before it was two years old, as I wasn't aware it had had the first one!
I asked about the brake fluid renewal at two years, but was advised it was not required until the car was three years old, then every two years thereafter
Without a Service Book I can't query that
Even VX customer service and Sureguard (Retailer Service Warranties) have agreed with the dealership

The timing belt on the V6 CDTi's is 100k or 10 years if you dare leave it that long. I'm going to get mine done at 60k. Its a £300+ job from the main dealers too....
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Any ideas how much a Vx 30K service is for a 3.0? Mines due shortly. I'm guessing it'll be well over £200

would not like to pay to have them removed just to check them out have you seen what a job that is todo i would say a few hundred in parts alone just to inspect them .......and to change them without a problem would be just plain saft ...........

oh and i would get all the parts changed oil filter air filter and the fuel filter and make shure they use the new modified fuel filter and not the old style vx one ....
