Default Which brake pads for track day?

I've been given a track day pass for donnington as a birthday present and wnat to make sure my car's ready for 3 weeks time.

I want to upgrade the front brake pads as I have GSi grooved discs and wondered if anyone knows which pads I should go for to reduce fade over the course of the day (bearing in mind that the day is split into 20minute sessions).

Also, I have a pair of 18" semil slick racing tyres and wondered if it is safe to use them on the front with me using 19" road tyres on the rear unless I find another pair in the meantime (or does anyone have a spare pair of 18" rims for hire).

EBC do redstuff for the 314mm discs so i'd fit them.....and yep, no reason why the 19's won't cope with track action if you get them warm before going banana's on them..

    Cheers Mark.
I was thinking maybe RedStuff pads as I'm planning to switch back to police spec pads after the track day, I'll just bed the RedStuff pads in prior to the track day.

With the tyres though, I'm trying to track down a pair of cheap'ish 18" rims as I've seen another set of 18" semi slick tyres on Ebay near me, but are you sure my 235/35.19's would be ok on the back if I can't find any 18"s as the 18" semi slicks I have at the moment would have to go on the front meaning that there would be much more grip on the front.

the rears will be fine as long as they're warm..the front is where all the main forces are, so as long as the rears stick well it should be fine..you just need to drive accordingly...TBH the springs will give you enough roll to make you want to slow down before the rear tyres should break away..

yep red stuff pads are spot on for the track ,as had them on the williams when i took it around snetterton..You may even get away with green stuff, one also if you are only doing 20 minutes at a time./.

There is also a yellow stuff but no good for road use, so you'd have to change them there.

ok, redstuff it is then. They're on the EBC website at £75 + delivery with a 10% online discount at the moment, but I managed to find an Ebay seller with a boat load of them and have made a low offer to see what he says for now.

Still on the braking side, I'm thinking of renewing the brake fluid as it's probably overdue. What fluid is best to use for general high mileage use on my 3.2 vec, bearing the track day in mind and the fact that I am generally quite hard on the brakes anyway.
