    Default 2.2 Engine problem

Problem started last week, whilst sat at idle engine sounded as if there was a vibration, however vibration did not increase with increased revs, and as the car wasn't moving it wasn't road noise , wheel bearings etc.
After a drive of 100 miles vibe disappears, however i did notice that the TC ESP light was on.
Finish journey, and then drive back, car fine but Kangaroos twice TC / ESP light comes on again however no other problems.

Being fine for the last week with no re-occurances of said fault until today.
Car decides to Kangaroo a few times, Rev counter needle drops to zero (engine still running) Revs re-appear, TC/ESP light comes on and car drives like a pig.
As it stands i've dumped it at a friends as i don't need it until sunday however the TC/ESP light is off but the engine management light is now on.
Anyone got any ideas, i think it will be a Tech2 job and a hub or two to sort out the TC/ESP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not to many issues, all down to one or more sensors on the hubs i guess, its a fuel delivery problem caused by TC/ESP thought it had cleared,
    Wrong

All my dials drop then all warning lights come on then it sorts itself but TC/ESP light stays on. All this in the space of 5 seconds. Car runs fine tough. Points towards the CIM Module in the steering column. The cim houses the steering angle sensor so this is why the tc/esp light stays on. Dealer quoted £250 ish before vat just for the part. The old one needs to be tech 2'd out and the new one in. £50 a go for that, so to fix it myself it would cost about £400!!!!

Default Crank speed sensor 2.2 petrol

After my last post, car ran ok but now its conked, AA been out sorted me out, shows up as crank speed sensor on his fault code laptop. On looking under bonnet finding sensor the wires didn't seem that well put in and detached themselves with ease. Bolt is now out, i need to get a new sensor.
How easy is it to (like where is the plug onto the loom located) to change myself?
Any help and pics would be greatly appreciated. And soon as i'm now static.
    Cheers

the 2.2 crank sensor is behind the starter motor, easiest to remove starter motor to change it

the crank sensor is quite cheap

if the crank sensor goes on a 2.2 the enigne wont run full stop ....plusif it isnt a genuine code reader they will always show a crank sensor fault !

The wires were pulled on the sensor, bloke from AA didn't do it, as we were both looking for sensor with a mirror and i could see wires.
Sensor is out, get a new one tomorrow, but got to do a loom repair to fix the plug, no great shakes just need to ensure the splices i put on are water proof.
Thanks for everyones advice so far.
