    Default ISOfix

Where are the fixing points located in the car, I have an 05 Vec.

Are they obvious or are they hidden, and does an ISOfix seat just "click" onto them

    Cheers

On the back seats, stick your fingers in the bit where the seat back meets the seat base, slide your fingers out towards the edge and you'll come across a couple of metal 'loops' - that's the ISOfix bit. The seats just click into them.

I use the isofix on mine, as Duncan said it is just a couple of loops about 12 " apart, I wouldn`t put a seat in without isofix now, it is solid ..

I'll obviously be looking at baby seats in the not too distant future, and ISOfix ones are definitely on the list. Fortunately Mrs Duncan's Corsa has ISOfix as well on the rear seats, so transferring the seat between cars will be no problem.

One Q Tommy - is the ISOfix the only bit that holds the seat?, or does the seat belt come into use as well to add more stability?

Right, hadn't realised that the front seat had one too - but not much use to me as there is also a passenger side airbag. Bit daft to have ISOfix on the front seat and no way to turn off the airbag!! Even on front facing baby seats, I understood it was a no-no/not recommended to have them in the front seat if there is an airbag?

not all Isofix seats fit all isofix cars, you still need to check they fit in a shop or something, because cars have different shaped seats etc.

Not sure if the older cars are the same but , there is a transponder system in the seat that recognises a vauxhall baby seat , not sure if you can get the transponder seperatly

Looked into that idea a few years ago Dennis. That just defeats the point of them selling their extortionatly expensive seat with it fitted.
