    Default Am looking for......

A splitter box for my computer monitor. Essentially I want to have my home PC and my work laptop plugged into the splitter box and then it output to my one monitor on my desk.

All the ones I can see searching on google appear to be one computer to multiple screens.

To complicate things a little bit my PC is connected to monitor by DVI cable so ideally the box would have a DVI and a VGA input and a DVI output

Does such a device exist, I am not bothered about the keyboard and mouse

    Cheers

Try searching for KVM Switches.. Here is an example, but you can probably get them cheaper than this one.

And there are ones that will have what you want..

Does your monitor also have a standard VGA input mate?

My Samsung TFT has a DVI and VGA in. I have a PC plugged into each and press the source selection button on the monitor to switch between the 2. Works a treat...

It does and I thought had read somewhere not to have both plugged in, so I did a search for my monitor's manual on the web and low and behold it says don't have both leads plugged into the same computer, but from two different ones is okay.

So off to the loft I trotted found an old VGA cable and it works in the same way using the source button.

    Thankyou so much !!!!!!

    Glad it's worked out!

Hopefully saved you a few quid, as well as having a load of extra cables around your desk!
