I had an odd thing go wrong the other week. I usually fill the tank full, but the gauge never went right up to the full mark. It never got higher than in between the 3/4 full and full mark.
Anyway, bunged it into Vx to be fixed and cant remember what they said it needed but definatly not to do with anything in the tank cos I asked them if they needed to drain the tank, and they said they didnt. Probably gauge or something.

I had this problem not so long ago, fixed under warranty though. As posted above, faulty fuel sender, located under the rear back seat i believe.

Thats possibly what they changed on mine. Sounds easy to get at though.

Totally confused mine earlier by filling the car with diesel with the engine running, needle stayed where it was for about 5 miles and only gradually moved during a motorway blast!

    Fine now though!

Must be a Vx thing. My previous 2 pre-facelift were fine but this facelift I've just got seems dodgy. When I picked it up it was on a 1/4 tank, then it seemed to drop to touching the red then after a few more miles it was back at a 1/4
