    Default Inchcape of Newbury

Thinking of looking at a car there tomorrow. What are they like for sales? Not interested in the service side of things as they would be too far away. Anyone bought a car there? Had any dealings with them????
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Before I bought my Vec I was looking at one there (this was July 2006) - just a typical main dealer sales place to be honest (and typical Inchcape I've found). What I did find annoying was the sales guy's constant running backwards and forwards to get information and approval from a sales manager (boring grey suit sat in a back office) about little details on a deal I was trying to do. I decided to have a think about the car so said I'd call them the next day, the following morning before I had chance to call them back they called me asking if I was still interested, and if I was could I pay and take the car that day! Turns out they wanted to shift some cars as it was the end of the month and they wanted to keep their figures up.

I believe that Nutron bought his from there a few months ago so he can give you a more upto date account.

In the end I bought mine from Burnham Garage in Slough - I found them far better, more polite and easier to deal with, plus as they are near Trade-Sales their prices have to be competitive.

    Hope that helps

Bellingers of Grove mate, I drove past Inchcape to go there. Bought one car from Inchcape, never again. Clueless, witless, ignorant, arrogant.... Get the picture?

    Thumbs down

Will third the views of Silver V and Andrew TI but only after learning the hard way

Bought my vec from Inchcape Newbury just over 2 years ago - car is fine but the levels of knowledge, politeness, customer service demonstrated by staff was p**s poor.

When I turned up to pick up the car only partial works requested had been done - only minor things like mats, fuel and fixing interior light but nevertheless it still puts you off.

Would avoid as far as possible mate!!

Oh and I forgot to MENTION... They are MORE EXPENSIVE than everyone else. My network Q dealer called Approach are very very good and A guy there called steve al-jerzri is a top bloke and knows exactly what he is doin. fixed my car up good and proper for when I collected it.

I can't say I would recommend them for sales... I have had SOME good work there by Techs but at the same time, some god awful work too.
