I feel like a rant and I can think of no other irritating road habit than this.
I was driving home and when I reached a built up area I slowed down to 30mph as the speed limit is - and there are no cars behind me. Then out of nowhere a big 4x4 races right up to my rear bumper, nearly parking in my boot. I slowed down out of spite to 27mph - in case I have to brake and they end up ramming my motor. Anyway they sit there for about two minutes until we come to a dual carriage way. When we get onto the carriage way I get up to 70mph but low and behold - the 4x4 is not making any effort to catch up and never does! What is the point of that? Ok even if they over took in an aggressive manner then fair does, but the fact they invade your boot space, and then when you do get away from them or out of their road they make no effort to pass you - says everything.
This anyway got me thinking why not instead of having speed cameras and traffic signal cameras - have Anti-Tailgating cameras. This could work in everyone's favor. By introducing them in towns - idiots like the one I described above will get fined and greeted with 6 penalty points preferably and there will be less risk of you getting punted in the rear bumper. Conversely flip the rule on the motor way - raise the speed limit on the motorways and for the outside lane for the people are doing less than 65mph in reasonable conditions, then the camera should catch them instead as they are causing delays.
The problem on the roads are these absolute clowns who are causing tailgating or driving too slow for the motorway outside lane. In towns the same problem exists these idiots not giving a s*** - although it would be their fault for tailgating you're still put at an inconvenience because of them.
Anyway rant over!!
Does anyone else drive on the M8?
