    Default respray..

got the garage coming next week to come and do the estimate for the respray...
its the same garage that cocked it up in the begining but as far as I am aware they are doing the whole car again..even the side that has been resprayed/repaired...
    now the question.. or dilema..
although the insurance are paying for the respray...what are my chances of a full colour change..??..
am very tempted at a different colour...and if the price of paint is not much different to the paint they will be using then i will pay the difference...
what do u reckon...keep the same colour or change it??...
am tempted with asbo orange..a quite unique colour for a vec..
if anybody would like to photoshop a pre facelift in orange (same as focus st colour) then maybe i could get a better idea on what to do...

I don't know if there's any chance of that m8, especially as a colour change involves a lot more work compared with a re-spray. You could try and see what happens, but I very much doubt it.

tbh i think they'd refuse.. You've pointed out how bad their blending in new paint is and i would think they would want to do a job and shut the case.. sorry if it sounds a bit harsh mate.

well they are doin the whole car again... so would it be so much work as they would be stripping the car anyway wouldnt they??..or do they just sand it down and not take all the paint off??

if they do a 'total' on your car it won't include shuts and inner panels, trust me... it'll just be an external all over..the labour involved in a colour change is immense, so i can't see the insurance wearing it either..

they don't remove all the old paint, they just flat and key the old paint..

Now that would make them happy ...

    No not possible.

Have the car re-sprayed, then ask for a complete colour change, Outside & INSIDE, Bonnet, Boot, everywhere....

I think a different colour would de-value your car. You know how buyers can be fussy about things that are non-standard.

As said, colour change is a huge job. Think of under the hood for a start, even the engine would have to come out for them to repaint all around there. Massively expensive work.
