    Question Signum CDTi Flywheel Vibration

    Hello everyone..
I've got a Signum CDTi 150 manual, and i've got the vibration through the clutch pedal, and you can hear the gearbox/clutch rattling at biting point on the clutch, and when car is ticking over in neutral.
It's booked in at Vaux dealer Sat morning, there is 1 month of the 3 year manufacturers warranty left.
When i booked it in, the guy on the desk warned me and said that if it's the clutch thats at fault, then i pay, but if its the flywheel or gearbox then Vaux will pay...

Obviously this has left me a little concerned with the possibility of facing a large bill, but realistically, how likely is it that the clutch is knackered..?

There is no slip in the clutch, the car has only done 28,000 miles, and has full dealer history.

Could it be the release bearing, and if so would i still be liable to pay..?

Any advice would be great, especially if vaux say the clutch is at fault.....

In fact, i wonder if they do find that the flywheel is at fault, but blame it on the clutch anyway just to make me pay...?

    AAAAArrrggghhhhh....!

    Many thanks

    Dave.

they know that the DMF's fail matey...it's within warranty, so report it anyway..they then have to investigate it, and even if it judders when the warranty expires then you'll still be covered...

know doubt about it mate Its the DMF mine went at 72K miles all of which was done on the motorway in top gear, you will find the posts I made originally about this on here. These things are a joke and the warranty guy at my local stealers tells me there are rumours around that VX are planning to bin them, not that that is any use to you or i!.
others like VW are having same probs but because its a major expensive issue they wont accept there is a prob with em which stinks!!
yours is amazingly low miles for one to go thou.
get it sorted NOW before the warranty runs out cos with new clutch the stealers wanted to roast me for £1300!! got it done in the end at specialist place for £700 bit of a difference!

I've had an intermittent problem with vibration and rattle at the biting point. Mine is a 1.8 Vec though... Just learnt to live with it but it's damn annoying. Particularly noticeable when manouvering at low speed...

DNS, you have classic 1.8 clutch judder, not a DMF problem..contact your local dealer for advice on getting the VX modified parts fitted to cure this.....it's fairly new out so if they don't know about it, ask them to contact VX technical services..

    Guys

I get a vibration on the gears when in 3rd at about 2500-3000rpm would this be the same thing?

05 1.9CDTi with 60k on the clock - Is the flywheel going a problem?

    Thanks

    Andy
