Default Cheap Ebay tuning listings.... Do they work?

    Hi Folks,
I am a complete newbie at this tunning lark. Looking through the ebay listings i have came across many items that claim to add upto 20BHP????? for a under £15. This is such an item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/25-BHP-MOD-CHI...QQcmdZViewItem
I dont expect it to prove a lot for this amount of money but do they improve performance/mpg/emissions by any amount?

    Cheers

Personally I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole... Heard a lot of bad things, search the forums and I'm sure you'll find some info.

It's cr*p. I tried one of these on my brothers petrol just out of interest and it does nothing for performance, economy or anything else. I actually tried a variable one and I spent alot of time adjusting it gradually to see it a particular resistance would have effect. Get yourself a Big Mac with the money, it'll be better spent.

Would not touch them with a barge pole,If you gonna do it, do it with a bona fide unit/system.

I'm not even sure the airbox mod does much to be honest mate - my 1.9 150 came out 15 bhp above normal and it's totally standard with absolutely nothing done to it, just really well run in I think... True, every rolling road is different, but with what others have had on other roads since then and comparing them witht he figures on the day I did mine, it seems fairly accurate...

Others have done the airbox mod and found it made no differece - even the standard Vauxhall air filter is apparnetly better for the engine than the K+N one...
