Recommend a head unit?

As the title says...

I've just got a Harmon Kardon Drive and Play kit for my iPod and like the way it works, but know I'd get better sound by plugging it directly into an aux input instead of using the FM transmitter.

I'm after a decent but reasonably priced headunit which won't look too out of place in my Vec. So many have far too many flashing lights and plasticy bits for my liking...

EDIT: I'd like to keep my steering wheel controls too if possible...

try a alpine 9885 (very good & high spec'd)i had one in my last car. for £10 extra you can get a high speed ipod lead and autoleads do a loom for the steering wheel controls
