    Default Wheres the boost sensor

    Hi,

boost sensor location on 2003 Vectra 2.0 DTi
I need to check this as the car is sluggish, random picture of a spanner pops up now and again, usual rubish.

The boost pipes are fine as recomended to check by another user.

The car is driving me mad, any help appreciated,

    Cheers Jim

    Boost switch....

Down the front again, underneath the EGR valve.

Try giving it a good clean.

Also check the vac hoses and try cleaning the MAF sensor with brake cleaner - if its better and the EML doesn't come on as often afterwards then buy a new MAF sensor (worked wonders on my old 2.0DTi B).

    Hey,

In my efforts to find it which are quite rubish as i dont know what or where an EGR valve is,
I will try to describe what i'm seeing.

When facing the car just off the right boost hose there is a white wire and a small bit of black trunking attached to that is a small black plug/clip type thing that looks like it should be attached to something however is not its hanging loose.

There is a second plug /clip type thing silver metal and this is plugged into the front frame of the car, Maybe thats the boost sensor, and secondly is it right that the black plug/ or clip is not attached to anything.

I know my knowledge is rubish, hopefully this makes sense to someone however if not not to worry, i'll up and take it to the stealers.

    Again cheers jim

    Hi Jim,
I have had the same problem as you with my 04 dti vectra. Changed the air filter today, still having the problem. Had another wee nosey under the bonnet when I got home and noticed the pipes you have mentioned, I also though they should be attached to something as has never noticed them before....

Took it back to a mechanic as the small pipe with black trunking was split along the trunking, he replaced it and now the car seems to be going grand, power back again.

I will attach a picture of it (it is the pipe attached on the yellow ring)

    Hopes this helps you...

    Hi,

Slightly freeky, but i took my car for a diagnostic check only yesterday at a local garage, cost 20 quid, The computer pointed out a fault in the boost pressure system which led the mechanic to test the pipes you have photographed and the one you have a yellow ring on had also split on mine, (the exact same one) and like yourself my car is back upto speed, going reaaly good since he changed the small rubber connector bit that had split.. Good news as i was expecting a costly repair bill.

Cheers for the message anyway, this site obviously works wwll, lets say i not had the check done on the car then your thread would have led me, a person with no knowledge of car mechanics to the problem.
