    Default Opinions please

Only had my signum a couple of months now and love the thing, problem is i never realised just how much it would cost to run, been doing alot of short trips to hospital and generally running around locally but this thing just eats juice. The £400 road tax fee next year is also a worry so with that in mind what do you guys think of the alternative??

JUst something that caught my eye in passing, i know i'd miss the power of the signum but wouldn't miss the fuel costs!
    Dont know what to do
    Opinions please

You won't be disappointed if you get a 2.0Turbo, only it may feel slow because of what you had. I'm getting about 30mpg in mine. The road tax is £205 for 12 months so straight away thats half price, would the fuel difference be enough to justify a change though? If you do get it add a BSR stage 1 and it won't be far off the performance.

Don't do it. You will save 200 quid per year on road tax but next to nothing on fuel. If you then pay 500 quid for a BSR jobby. You could keep the signum for 2.5 year's. Not includeing the road tax for the next 2 year's. You know what i mean. I dont think it's worth it. Also how much you gonna get for the signum. A big loss i think for just a short time of ownership. I bet you will be shocked.
Plus you don't want to down grade a step

You will regret it i think. But it's your choice. Money matters. But i would hate to see you loose a load on changeing.

Going on Duncan's MPG figures...i think you'll find that the 2.8T will give you around 28-30 combined??.. Thats only what Duncan gets for his 2.0T....and around town i expect his economy to match what the 2.8 gives as well..Just because the engine is smaller doesn't make it more economic..it still has to pull the same weight around...

The only real difference is the tax..yes it's an extra £195...but thats a small price to pay..just 4 tank fulls of fuel over the course of a year ( or a fortnights motoring for me)... so really the running costs are near on the same..In fact it may even cost you to swap as they will try and undervalue your signum so they still turn a profit on the vectra..
