    Default Booze cruise...

Have just returned from a booze cruise to Calais in my Vectra...

Firstly, it never ceases to amaze me how much 'essential supplies' can be put in the boot of a Vectra!

Secondly, and more surpirsing....I had a full tank of gas when I left my home this morning. By the time I got to Calais via the tunnel, I had exactly half a tank left. Topped up with some French googlie juice at the destination, did exactly the same amount of miles on the return journey, and....now have three quarters of a tank left. Huh????

All I can figure, after sampling quite a bit of the mechandise acquired today, is that we are drastically being ripped of for our petrol in Blighty! Nothing new?

Again, due to the affliction of alcohol, hic,' I apologise if this post is a complete waste of time. No doubt the numerous panadol I will be taking in the morning to clear tonights fuzziness will make me realise how pointless this thread is.....apologies in advance...

See what the gauge says in the morning, sometimes you get the impression the car has gone ultra economical. only to see the needle drop rapidly some time after.

Yep, I thought that may be the case too...

Went to my local Morrisons this morning...gauge hasn't moved a bit.

At least it means I won't have to fill her up again for a bit longer.

Seriously though, I did a 40 mile round trip the other day and the needle hardly moved. Went out the next day and was shocked at how much i had used!!

I'm heading over there myself on Saturday, and I daresay I'll fill up on some nice, cheap French diesel while I'm there.
then it'll be off to the wine warehouse, over to Sangatte for a nice long lunch then into Auchan at Coquelles for extras.
Even better, I've got the whole week off next week, too!

    Hi Phil,

Hope you have as much fun as we did... The carrying capacity of the Vec still impresses me...

One of the usual places we normally go to is Boozers, off the A16 I think...

RE-opened last November-ish. New owners, and great priced wine/beer from just about everywhere. (Except NZ, but I think they're working on that... )

    Happy Cruzin'
