Creaking from rear........!!!!

lol.........this is not a terrible medical condition, just a query!

When braking down to zero for junctions etc regardless of prior speed, the rear of my Veccy seems to creak as the vehicle stops. No other handling issues or noises..........any ideas guys. First thought is shockers but don't want to rush off and get scammed for parts I don't need.

lol.. take your pick.. there are so many components that the movement of the car will affect.. it could be bushes ( any one of them ) and is more likely that than dampers..

the rear end of my car is starting to creak as well, any help would be nice.

Had exactly the same problem and it got really annoying, I spoke to Mark (GSi 3.2) who suggested looking at
the rear anti-roll bar bushes. I was just going to change them as they're quite cheap anyway but I thought
i'd spray them (and any sort of joint in the same area) with a liberal amount of wd40, it was still making
the noise on the way home from work but after about 20-30 miles the noise disappeared and so far

hasn't come back again. RESULT!!

That sounds like my kind of fix........

What exactly would I be looking to spray.........don't know an anti roll bar bush from my elbow!!

the bushes are mounted to the subframe..behind the rear damper...look for the metal bar that cross's the car and links on to the lower arm.....there is one mount either side of the car

Thanks for the advice chaps, have emptied a tin of WD40 all round the back end and there is a marked improvement, hopefully it will disappear completely in the near future.
